Unstable Spiral is a legacy project dedicated to Howard Blumenfeld, author of 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 and Mathematics professor at Laspositas college. Unstable Spiral was a website that he worked on in college and for his birthday I'm recreating it with modern taste. I'm using bootstrap for the styling and PHP for the back end. This responsive web app was created to be used at FRC tournaments by robotics teams. Teams can use this app to collect data on the teams' robots during matches. Team members can only submit data, but admins and owners can view both the raw data and analytics based off that data. App is specific to FRC 2018, but I am currently working on creating an app which will make it modular for any FRC game as well as other uses. https://github.com/kgupta1542/scouting-app
This project is my first implementation of a neural network after learning its principles online. The derivatives were manually calculated in this project, since I had not been exposed to libraries like TensorFlow at the time. This project takes the materials that one has, and the products they want as its input and returns the most efficient way to use the materials. For instance, if someone has a certain inventory of wood blocks and needs to cut out a certain number of wood blocks in certain sizes, the program would return which inventory pieces should be used to create which desired wood blocks in order to maximize usage.
